WORM WATCH
Nematodes play a wide variety of roles in the environment. Their extreme diversity in form and function makes them appropriate to demonstrate numerous biological principles including systematics, biodiversity, genetics and ecology at any educational level. WORM WATCH is an outreach program at the University of New Hampshire whose goal is to promote and support the development of research-based teaching of biological principles using nematodes. This overall goal is addressed by training highly motivated teachers in local high schools and through a close follow up support by University Research Scientists. The first of this annual workshop was conducted involving 12 high school teachers from the state of New Hampshire.

Participants of the first WORM WATCH workshop (August 22-23, 2004) held at University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH.
